1: 1930's expression for "fuck" (vulgar) or "see" (polite). You hear this expression in old movies, or recent movies (like Get Low) which is about the 1930's.

  * e.g.,  ... In the old days we'd say, "When did you take up with Sallie Mae?-- after all she's a married woman." Today we would say, "When did you start seeing Sallie Mae?" Or, "When did you start fucking Sallie Mae?"

1: digging deep in your self to apply more effort toward acheiving a goal

  * e.g.,  ... Laura was enjoying her carefree, single life but decided to "take it up a notch" and have children.

1: Being taken advantage of in a variety of situations. As if you're bending over, you're in a kind of vulnerable situation where people can easily shove stuff up your ass, and you're taking it with a faint smile.

  * e.g.,  ... If he rents this shitty apartment for as much money as their asking, he will totally be taking it up the ass.

1: slang for royally reamed in the butt, getting your butt blasted

  * e.g.,  ... Last night, I took it up the gary, and it was leaking so bad, I had to cut it off

1:  To have a penis or other object inserted into your anus.

 [ "Take em' up" ]

1: In a fight, this is a phrase used by onlookers, and instigaters. It urges one fighter to physically wrap their arms around the mid section of the other fighter, lift him/her off the ground, turn the victim's body, in mid air, either horizontally, or upside down, and then slam them back onto the ground. In most cases, injury to the upper body results from the impact. This wrestling move is frequently used in highschool boys team lockerooms in order for senior players to teach freshman teammates who is boss.
